FRESHMAN (2005): Attended Whitworth College (since changed to university status)...started seven of his nine appearances as keeper duties were split as regular keeper Kevin Bostock was slowed after undergoing off-season knee surgery...won all seven of his starts...posted a 0.67 GAA while playing 672:29...had two shutouts and shared two others with Bostock, including a 6-0 whitewashing of Willamette in which Barnum started and played into the 80th minute before being spelled by Bostock...Whitworth advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division III men[apos]s soccer championship, losing to Gustavus Adolphus College of Minnesota...did not play in any of Whitworth[apos]s four post-season matches.
SOPHOMORE (2006): Redshirted at Whitworth.
SOPHOMORE (2007): Attended Whitworth University and started all 20 matches while posting a 15-4-1 record and 0.68 GAA...had 10 shutouts, including six straight from Sept. 9-29 to extend early-season winning streak to seven...clinched Northwest Conference title with 1-0 win at Whitman on final night of regular season...defeated Gustavus Adolphus College 2-1 in the first round of the NCAA Division III men[apos]s soccer championships, then fell to host Wisconsin-Oshkosh 2-0 in the second round.
JUNIOR (2008): Started all 17 of his appearances, getting first start in second match of season at Oregon State in double-overtime scoreless tie...started 10 straight matches before giving way to Andrew Hickman at Loyola Marymount, then started final seven matches of season...second shutout of season was 1-0 victory at home against CS Bakersfield...season-high 11 saves in 3-2 double-overtime victory at San Francisco...had eight matches where he allowed just one goal, going 5-1-2 in those matches...posted 9-6-2 record and 1.49 GAA. Misc.: Did not start playing keeper until senior year of high school when bad knees forced him to change positions.
