Volleyball: Three Zags named to Pac-12 Impact List

SPOKANE, Wash.- Three Gonzaga Volleyball have been named to the Pac-12's Preseason Impact List ahead of the first season in the new conference for the Bulldogs. Claire Wagstaff, Maggie Rickert and Veronica Sorensen were selected as players to watch based on the Impact List, which is selected by the conference's nine head coaches.
Wagstaff joins the Zags after playing the previous two seasons at Wyoming. She appeared in 34 matches, putting up 258 kills and 100 blocks, averaging 2.31 points per set. She had double digit kills in 12 matches during her in Laramie. She has had 13 matches where she had at least four blocks, including a career high nine blocks in one match against Nevada.
Rickert is returning to the Zags for senior season, taking on the role of a libero for the second year in a row. Since converting to a libero in the 2025 season after previously playing as an outside hitter, she appeared in all 29 matches for GU. Rickert had 153 digs last season while leading the Zags in serve receptions and facilitating 62 assists.
Sorensen joins the Bulldogs for her freshman season all the way from Denmark, where she has played as a member of the national youth team. Sorensen was named MVP for the Danes at the North European Zone Volleyball Association U19 championship.
The Zags were selected eighth in the preseason coach's poll, with Colorado State taking the top spot in the preseason predictions. Gonzaga will open the season on Friday against Southern Utah, returning home a week later to play Cal State Fullerton in the home opener.
