LAST TIME OUT
- Gonzaga had two of its toughest games of the season over the past week, taking on Loyola Marymount on the road to open WCC play and then traveling to No. 2-ranked Washington to wrap the non-conference.
- At LMU, GU pushed the Lions to the brink, playing great defense to send the game into overtime tied at 0-0. LMU scored three minutes into the extra frame to take the win.
LUCRATIVE SOCAL TRIP
- Before a 2.5-week break from games, GU finished off an unbeaten weekend with a 2-2 tie at UC Irvine on Sept. 22. That came two days after a 2-0 win at Cal Baptist.
- At CBU, the game went scoreless into the 84th minute when Nathaniel Tolton got his first collegiate goal. Kupa'a Fernandez followed with his first collegiate goal less than five minutes later.
- At UC Irvine, Theo O'Malley gave GU a 1-0 lead, but it took a Mark McEntosh goal in the 70th minute to tie the game.

- Gonzaga has had equal to or more shots on goal than its opponent in half of its 10 matches this season.

- Gonzaga's redshirt freshman goalkeeper Johan Garibay has played all 740 minutes in net for the Zags. The only other player to be on the field every minute is Isaiah Jackson.
- Garibay has a goals-against average of 1.70 and has made 18 saves, including a career-high seven against Cal Poly.
PRESEASON ALL-WCC
- Gonzaga men's soccer player Demitrius Kigeya was named to the Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team, selected by the league's head coaches and announced Monday afternoon. Kigeya was named to the WCC All-Freshman team last season.
- Gonzaga was also selected to finish seventh as a team in the preseason poll, while Saint Mary's was the unanimous choice to win the league.
FACING TOUGH COMPETITION:
- Gonzaga face four NCAA Tournament teams from last season over the course of the 16-game schedule.
- The Zags faced Washington in an exhibition, and will go to Seattle to face the Huskies in the middle of the regular season.
- GU's league slate the rest of the way then features three NCAA teams that all won their postseason opener last season in Portland (road), Saint Mary's (home) and Pacific (road).
