FACING TOUGH COMPETITION:
- Gonzaga faces its highest-ranked opponent of the season in No. 5 Saint Mary's, who is also unbeaten on the year.
- GU is playing its third straight match away from home after falling to Santa Clara and San Francisco on the road last week.
- Last season, Gonzaga hosted Saint Mary's and fell 1-0 when a 56th-minute corner kick was converted by the Gaels.
OFFENSE LED BY KIGEYA:
- Freshman Demetrius Kigeya leads the way for the Zags with eight points on a team-high four goals. He also has team-highs in shots (27) and shots on goal (14).
- Austin Giftopoulos put home his second goal of the year last weekend at Santa Clara with a header off a free kick by Isaiah Jackson. A defender, Giftopoulos moves up into the box on restarts and has found success with both goals coming in those situations.
- Jake Kempf notched his second goal of the season against Portland on Oct. 6. His two scores have come on just four shots on goal.
- Quinn Liebmann, Theo O'Malley, Chris Geanon and Joe Corner have each scored for the Zags this season as well. Liebmann has a pair of assists to go along with his goal for a total of four points.
WILLIS IN NET:
- Gonzaga redshirt senior goalkeeper Ben Willis has added to his impressive career so far this season. He leads the conference in saves per game at 4.47 per contest.
- Willis' league-leading 67 saves is 10 more than any of his WCC counterparts.
LOADED SCHEDULE:
- The Gonzaga men's soccer schedule has become one of the toughest in the country including the Oct. 6th match against then-No. 11 Portland and this week's match with No. 5 Saint Mary's.
- They played then-No. 3 Washington on Labor Day and on Friday hosted then-No. 17 UC Davis.
- The Zags also played four ranked opponents in 2016, going 2-2 in those games.
MAN DOWN, TEAM UP:
- The Zags have played on four occasions a man down the last two seasons. They have pulled out the victory in two of those games.
- Earlier this season, they played the final 10 minutes against Bakersfield 10 vs. 11, but held their 1-0 lead, not allowing a single shot on goal.
