GU has lost three straight matches by 1-0 score
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Gonzaga men's soccer suffered a 1-0 loss on Saturday night at Missouri State in Springfield, Mo.
Gonzaga defended well and put pressure on the Missouri State side, but were unable to capitalize on opportunities on the offensive end.
"Credit Missouri State for capitalizing on a good opportunity, but I felt we were solid on both sides of the ball tonight," head coach Paul Meehan said. "The guys continue to battle and work hard, their effort and performance of late has been deserving of better outcomes."
Goalkeeper Ben Willis made seven saves in net to extend his league-leading total to 61 on the season.
The Bears struck first in the 29th minute with a goal from leading scorer Josh Dolling, and that proved to be the difference in the match.
Gonzaga will be back on the road in WCC play for its next two matches, starting with an Oct. 26th tilt at Santa Clara and Oct. 28th at San Francisco. Check Gozags.com for links to live coverage.
