MOSCOW, Ida. - Gonzaga seniors Abby Cullen and Natasha Kozen each collected 13 kills on Tuesday night but it was not enough to off set the 23 kills by Idaho's Anna-Marie Hammond as the Vandals (8-8) improved to .500 on the season with a 3-1 win over the Bulldogs (3-17). Idaho won 30-23, 30-23, 28-30, 30-18 in the final non-conference match of the season for Gonzaga.
Hammond led three Vandal players into double figure kills as Idaho combined for 69 kills and a .223 attack percentage. The Bulldogs could muster only 46 total kills despite the 26 combined kills by Cullen and Kozen. GU finished the contest with a .116 attack percentage with their best effort coming in the form of a .297 clip in the game three win.
Sarah Meek added 15 kills and Kati Tikker 12 for Idaho. The Vandals Jessica Yearout was the defensive standout of the match with 26 digs. Bulldogs senior Heather Signor led GU with 16 digs while Kozen added 11 and Lacey Bell contributed 11.
