Zags return home Thursday against Arizona for next match

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon used three goals within an 18-minute span to break open a scoreless game and pull away from Gonzaga women's soccer Sunday.

The Ducks (2-0-0) had three different goal scorers and capitalized on their scoring chances. Oregon held a slim 13-12 edge in shots, with a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal. The hosts also took four of the game's five corner kicks, but the Bulldogs (1-1-0) had 54 percent of the possession in the match.

After a scoreless first 39 minutes, Oregon's Lauren Hunter scored her first goal of the season to open the scoring. Three minutes into the second half, Shiloh Baird found the back of the net for her second goal of the season off an assist from Carly Cormack. Oregon's third goal came in the 57th minute, as Abella Hunter scored on a loose ball in the box.

Amelia Severn and Samantha Snorsky both took four shots, with both placing two on frame. Sydney Head made four saves for GU, and Gray Willson had four for the Ducks.
