
Mikey Bell Drafted by San Francisco Giants

SAN FRANCISCO The San Francisco Giants selected Gonzaga 3B Mikey Bell in the 19th round of the MLB Draft on Sunday.
Bell, the back-to-back WCC Player of the Year, was selected after two record setting seasons in which he started every single game for the Bulldogs. He was selected as an ABCA/Rawlings All-West Team selection after both seasons at GU.
Mikey Bell ended the 2026 season with a .378 batting average while starting all 53 games this season. He hit for 24 doubles, the fifth most doubles of any Division 1 Baseball player. His 85 total hits were the 25th most in Division 1 baseball on the year and ninth most in a single season in program history. Bell's career batting average of .369 at Gonzaga is the eighth highest in GU history and second highest for a Zag since 2000. He scored 52 runs and drove in 47 RBIs on the season while tying program records for doubles in a single game with three and tying the record for hits in a single game three different times with five hits on three occasions.
A native of Fresno, California, Bell was selected by the MLB team he has followed since childhood. The Zags have had a player selected in every full MLB draft since 1999.
