Men’s Soccer Forward Kigeya Named WCC Player of the Week

Kigeya scored the game winner against No. 18 San Diego over the weekend
SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Gonzaga forward Demitrius Kigeya was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week after his performance over the weekend in an upset of No. 18 San Diego, league officials announced Monday.
Kigeya scored in the 67th minute, just 90 seconds after the Toreros had tied the score at 1-1. The sophomore's second goal of the season proved to be the difference in GU's first ranked win in three years.
The win also propelled Gonzaga to 2-1-0 in WCC play this season, which puts them in third, three points ahead of five other teams and three points behind unbeaten Saint Mary's and LMU.
Gonzaga will be back on the road on Wednesday at Portland at 7 p.m. Check GoZags.com for links to live coverage.
