STOCKTON, Calif. - The Gonzaga Bulldogs completed their 2017 season on Saturday night in Stockton, Calif., falling to the Pacific Tigers, 3-1.
The Zags played great defense, as they have all season, and the match was scoreless into the 69th minute. Colin Bettencourt put the Tigers on the board at that point, and six minutes later he setup Tariq Branche for a goal. Two minutes later the Tigers got one more from Anthony Oredian.
Isaiah Jackson put the Zags on the board in the 87th minute with an unassisted goal as he fired a shot in from the left side that beat the keeper over the far corner. Jackson, Colton Cavey, Theo O'Malley, and Jake Kempf all fired shots for GU.
Ben Willis made eight saves in goal for Gonzaga, keeping the Tigers at bay for the majority of the match.
With the end of the match comes the end of the Gonzaga season, as they say goodbye to seven seniors who logged heavy minutes over their careers. A number of underclassmen shined for the Zags this season as well though, and the freshman class gave great support as reserves off the bench and in starting positions.
