Collegiate Baseball All-American Complete List
SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga redshirt senior Jeff Bohling was named to the Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-America Third Team on Monday.
Bohling became the first preseason All-American since Marco Gonzales was tabbed ahead of the 2013 season. He's also one of just three WCC selections among the three teams named. Saint Mary's Corbin Burnes and BYU's Colton Shaver were named to the Second and Third Team's, respectively.
A native of Bellevue, Wash., Bohling started all 57 games at third base for Gonzaga last season, posting a slash line of .298/.360/.522. The West Coast Conference Player of the Year topped GU in slugging (.522), runs scored (51), RBIs (50), and home runs (8), finishing among the conference's Top 10 in each category.
As a redshirt junior, Bohling more than doubled his career highs in every offensive category while setting or equaling single-game highs in most. Bohling was also the first Bulldog to receive First Team All-Region honors since Marco Gonzales earned the honor in 2012.
Gonzaga begins its 2017 campaign on Feb. 17 against Indiana in the first game of the Sanderson Ford College Baseball Classic in Surprise, Arizona. GU will face Duke and Oregon State on Feb. 18, then wrap the tournament with a rematch against Indiana on Feb. 19.
