Bolinger Named NWL Player Of The Week

SPOKANE, Wash. - Former Gonzaga University outfielder Royce Bolinger was named the Northwest League Player of the Week on Monday.
Bolinger, a first year player for the Spokane Indians, was honored with the award for his performance for games played Aug. 13 to Aug. 19. The right-hander finished the week hitting .500 (14-28) with one double, one triple, six RBI and four runs scored as he extended his hitting streak to 20 games. He extended his streak to 21 games Monday for the longest hitting streak in the NWL this year and ranks him in the Top 10 in Indians history.
This past June, Bollinger was a 6th-round draft pick of the Texas Rangers in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. This summer for the Indians, Bolinger has hit .294 in 56 games.
During his senior season at Gonzaga, the Scottsdale, Ariz., native was named to the All-West Coast Conference first-team and led the Bulldogs in most statistical categories. Bolinger led the WCC in batting average (.392) and hits (93) while finishing the season with 11 home runs, 46 runs scored and 51 RBI
