Men's Soccer Begins Final Homestand; Senior Day Sunday

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's men's soccer team begins a three-match homestand this weekend.
The University of San Diego, which sits atop the West Coast Conference standings with 21 points, visits Gonzaga Soccer Field Friday for a 2 p.m. match, with Loyola Marymount University in town Sunday at noon.
Sunday's match will also be Senior Day as well as a doubleheader with the Bulldog women, who play Eastern Washington University in their regular-season finale at 2:30 p.m. also for Senior Day.
Four seniors dot the roster. Keeper Ryan Caballero, midfielder Casey Ames, defender Erik Nielsen and defender James Partee will be recognized in pre-match ceremonies. Caballero (Sunnyvale, Calif.) has played in 45 career matches and has a 1.80 GAA. His 218 career saves rank third behind current assistant coach Vito Higgins (305, 2003-07) and Josh Fouts (224, 1996-98). Ames (Spokane, Wash.) has played in 41 career matches and has a goal and two assists. Nielsen (Boise, Idaho), who came to Gonzaga as a forward, made the conversion to defense and has played in 57 career matches. Partee (Camas, Wash.) has played in 63 career matches with a pair of goals and an assist.
