Baseball Adds Shortstop For 2005 Season

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University head baseball coach Mark Machtolf has announced the addition of Alex Parrott to the Bulldogs baseball squad for the 2005 season. Parrott, a shortstop from Seattle, has joined the team as classes at Gonzaga began today.

Parrott played at Redmond High School where he helped lead the team to back-to-back 20-6 seasons and consecutive appearances in the Washington State 4A playoffs. He earned second team All-KingCo honors, Seattle Mariners first-round pick Matt Tuiasosopo earning first-team All-KingCo. He finished his senior season with a .420 batting average and 13 stolen bases while leading the conference in doubles.
