Men's Soccer Earns National Academic Honor

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's men's soccer team is one of 71 men's soccer programs nationally to post a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2002-03 school year, earning the Bulldogs a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award.
Head coach Einar Thorarinsson's Bulldogs posted a 3.21 grade point average for the 2002-03 academic year, the 22nd highest GPA among those schools honored.
This past season Gonzaga had Scott Bertram selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America District VIII All-Academic team with a 3.59 GPA in accounting and business administration. Three Bulldogs were recently named to the 2003 West Coast Conference men's soccer All-Academic team.
