Men's Tennis Opens Fall Season at the Western Michigan Invite

Competition Continues Tomorrow
KALAMAZOO, Michigan – The Gonzaga men's tennis team began their 2026-27 campaign today at the annual WMU/Jack Vredevelt Invitational, emerging with a 2-1 record in doubles matches and a 5-5 showing in singles competition, split across two rounds.
Hosted by Western Michigan, the Invitational - from September 25-26 - includes invited teams from Ball State, Butler, Depaul, and Marquette.
Nicholas Reeves and Noah Pawirodirjo notched a season-opening 6-2 victory over Marquette's Clayton Anderson and Kristian Blagoev in the first doubles match, while Michael Mitchell and Tom Dunlop lost 6-1 to Western Michigan's Dominik Vonbank and Oscar Corwin. In the final doubles contest, James Hutchinson and Tristan Hernandez defeated Butler's Ronin Kasday and Arnesh Singh, 6-3.
Shifting to singles, outcomes were split with five wins and five losses. Tom Dunlop was able to secure wins in both of his matches, one against Western Michigan and one against Butler. Additionally, Michael Mitchell, Tristan Hernandez, and Noah Pawirodirjo were all able to put a mark in their win column for one of their singles.
Gonzaga will continue play tomorrow in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
