Snorsky Scores Twice in 3-1 Road Win

Zags’ sophomore scores third and fourth goals of season
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Samantha Snorsky led Gonzaga women's soccer to a 3-1 road win over New Mexico Sunday. The sophomore scored a pair of second-half goals in the victory.
After a scoreless first half, Snorsky found the back of the net in the 50th minute and again in the 81st minute as GU (2-2-0) picked up its first win away from Spokane this season. The Bulldogs outshot the Lobos (1-1-0), 16-11, with a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal. Gonzaga also had an 11-5 edge in corner kicks.
The Zags outshot New Mexico 10-4 in the first half, with a 5-1 edge in shots on goal, but neither team scored until Snorsky's opener in the 50th minute. Amelia Severn was credited with her second assist of the season. Ten minutes later, the Lobos' Fiona Jenkins scored the equalizer off an assist from Savanah Sanchez.
In the 70th minute, Severn converted a penalty kick for her Pac-12-leading fifth goal of the season. Snorsky capped the scoring in the 81st minute on an unassisted goal.
Severn, who was voted the national player of the week Thursday, rose to sixth in program history with 52 career points. The junior also moved to fifth in career assists (14) and seventh in career goals (19).
The Bulldogs forced New Mexico's Alyson Campbell into six saves, and Sydney Head made two saves in the GU net. All six of Snorsky's game-high six shots were on goal. Severn took four shots.
Gonzaga is at No. 10 Washington (3-0-0) at 5 p.m. Thursday. The Huskies remained unbeaten Sunday with a shutout win over Montana. Thursday's game between the Zags and Washington will be broadcast live on Big Ten Plus, with live stats available on GoZags.com.
