GREENSBORO, N.C. – Gonzaga baseball's
Mikey Bell, the reigning West Coast Conference Player of the Year, added another honor in 2025 as a member of the ABCA/Rawlings All-West Region Second Team on Tuesday. He is the first Zag to earn an ABCA nod since Gabriel Hughes in 2022.
Bell led the Bulldogs with a .360 batting average, including a .436 mark in West Coast Conference play this season. He added a .440 on base percentage and .616 slugging percentage, also leading the team in both of those categories with his 1.056 OPS. He finished first on the team in doubles (17), home runs (11), runs batted in (45), and total bases (125) and finished second in hits (73), second in walks (24), and third in runs scored (38). Throughout the 24-game conference slate, Bell tallied a hit in 22 of those contests, including 15 games with multiple hits and ending the WCC season on a 21-game hit streak.
On May 20, Bell was named West Coast Conference Player of the Year, the first Zag to earn the nod since Jeff Bohling in 2016. He led a total of eight Bulldogs with All-WCC recognition, tying the most individual honors in Gonzaga's West Coast Conference era (1996-present).
The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
The Chair of the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America & Coach of the Year Committee is Brian Green of Wichita State University. The committee also includes Mitch Canham (Oregon State University), Chris Curry (University of Arkansas at Little Rock), Dean Ehehalt (Monmouth University), Jeff Mercer (Indiana University), Brian O'Connor (Mississippi State University), Jim Penders (University of Connecticut), and Butch Thompson (Auburn University).
The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
