QUICK KICKS:
- Gonzaga returns to Spokane to host Idaho State at Luger Field Friday at 7 p.m.
- The Zags have won four of the seven all-time meetings between the programs, but the teams have not met since a scoreless draw in Pocatello in 2008.
- The Bulldogs have won three straight games, including a pair of wins in the Midwest last week at Kansas State (3-2) and Nebraska (2-1).
- Seven of GU's eight matches this season have been decided by one goal, and the Zags are 5-2 in those games.
- The Bulldogs are 18th in the nation averaging 8.86 shots on goal per game, and 25th averaging 17.9 shots per outing. GU is second in the WCC in both of those.
- Freshmen Lauren Elwer is 12th in the nation at 77.8 shot accuracy, which also tops the WCC. She is second in the WCC averaging two shots on goal per game.
SCOUTING THE BENGALS:
- Idaho State split its games last week, beating Saint Mary's and falling to Cal Poly.
- The Bengals got their first win of the season, 2-1, over SMC in overtime. Karlin Wurlitzer scored on a penalty kick in the 99th minute. Katie Hogarth recorded a career-high single-game record of nine saves on the match.
- Sunday, ISU lost to Cal Poly, 3-1, in Missoula, Mont. The Bengals' Makena Bambei scored her first goal of the season assisted by Wurlitzer with two minutes left in the match. Cal Poly's three goals came within eight-minute stretch during the second half.
- Bambei and Wurlitzer both have a goal and two assists this season to lead Idaho State with four points. Jazmin Lopez has a goal and an assist.
- Hogarth has a 1.92 goals against average in the ISU net, with a .758 save percentage.
MOVING ON UP:
- The Zags' India Jencks and Sophia Viviano continue to climb in the program's Top-10 lists.
- Jencks rose to fifth in program history with 17 career goals, while Viviano is fifth with 11 career assists.
- Jencks is sixth with 42 career points, just one from fifth, and Viviano moved into the Top-10 with 35 career points, which ranks 10th all-time at GU.
- Viviano's 117 career shots ranks eighth in program history, and Jencks' 110 shots are ninth.
LOOKING AHEAD ... AT BAYLOR:
- Gonzaga travels to Waco, Texas, for its first-ever meeting with Baylor.
- The Zags are 1-4-1 all-time versus current members from the Big 12 Conference. GU won at Kansas State, 3-2, in overtime last week.
