- Gonzaga is coming off possibly its biggest win in program history in a 4-2 defeat of then-No. 31 BYU at home.
- USF is 3-8 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
- Santa Clara enters the weekend at 10-3 overall and 1-1 in the WCC with a 4-3 win over Pacific.
- GU is just two wins away from securing a second consecutive winning season.
