Women's Soccer Ends Road Streak In Defeat

LOGAN, Utah - Charlsie Harris scored the lone goal of Sunday's match to lead Utah State University in a victory over the Gonzaga University women's soccer team, 1-0.
The Aggies were able to score early as Harris scored her second goal of the season in the 18th minute of play. Harris received the ball from teammate Tiffany Jones and flipped it over the head of Bulldog sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Haugen to give Utah State the win. Haugen notched seven saves during Sunday's match, and Aggie goalkeeper Megan Mills made four.
Gonzaga (2-3) tallied 14 shots on the day, with junior Sarah Hawkins leading the offense with four shots. Beth Drollinger, Annie Hawkins and Ashley Pryor also made an impact with two shots each. Utah State marked 17 shots, five each by Ally Clegg and Amber Tracy. Harris made three shots for the Aggies, who improved their record to 4-2.
Sunday's match marked the end of the Bulldogs' five-match road streak, as they return to Martin Field for their home opener against University of Idaho on Friday, Sept. 19 at 3 p.m.
