ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - Sonoma State University shutout the Gonzaga University Bulldogs 7-0 Wednesday at Seawolf Courts. Led by standout Nestor Bernabe , the Seawolves took all six singles and all three doubles matches to improve to 3-8 on the year.
Bernabe improved to 10-1 on the year in the No. 1 singles position with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Bryce Cooper of Gonzaga.
Shaun Whitney forced a third set against Mike Cardozo before falling 6-1, 6-4, 10-7 in No. 2 singles action.
Andrew Laing defeated Reid Arthur in the third match with a tie breaker set 6-2, 7-6, (6) while Patrick Nagle downed Drew Ernst 7-5, 4-6, (10-8) in the No. 4 match.
The Seawolves finished the singles sweep with Zeus Kuzu defeating Robert Penney 6-2, 3-6, (10-7) and Westley Kestler downing Jesse Goldsmith 6-2, 6-2.
Sonoma State secured the win by taking all three doubles matches.
Gonzaga continues action on the road Thursday when they visit Cal Poly at 1 p.m.
