Biography

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's basketball head coach Lisa Fortier announced the signing of Sierra Lichtie. A 6-0 forward, Lichtie is transferring to Gonzaga after three years at Cal Poly. She comes to GU as a graduate student who will have two years left to play.

In her redshirt sophomore season, Lichtie started in 29 games and averaged 10.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. She was a key contributor during Cal Poly's dash in the Big West Championship, grabbing a team high 13 rebounds and 17 points against UC Santa Barbara. 

Overall, she played in 60 games for the Mustangs and started in 48 of those. She averaged 25.1 minutes per game and grabbed 294 rebounds in her career while scoring 518 points.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Four-year varsity player at Bingham High School ... helped school win two 6A state championships in 2019 and 2020 ... in 2020 state championship game, led team with 18 points and was 4-5 from three ... was named 2020 State Tournament MVP ... also helped school win three regional championships ... for her career, scored over 1,000 points and averaged 18.5 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists ... was a three-time All-Region honoree and was the 2022 Region MVP ... academically, was top of her class with a 4.0 GPA.

Lisa Fortier on Lichtie: Sierra is first and foremost a competitor.  A versatile forward who can guard multiple positions and does whatever it takes to win.  Sierra is a smart player and will fit right in with the kind of team focus we have in our program.
