DENVER, Col. – The Gonzaga men's tennis team concluded the Colorado Cup today with matches against Penn and Air Force.
In doubles, Tom Dunlop/Oscar Rashed beat a pair of Falcons 6-3, while Giovanni Branchetti/Jay Fairclough and Kai-Luca Ampaw/Gus Krauel each fell to Quaker duos.
Dunlop was also victorious in singles, outlasting Penn in a second-set tiebreaker. Branchetti's bout went the distance as the Zag survived two extended tiebreakers to take the match. Fairclough, Ampaw, Rashed, and Krauel each dropped their singles on Sunday.
During the fall season, the men's team has a 17-17 record in doubles matches and a 29-30 showing in singles.
Up next: The Bulldogs conclude their fall schedule with the Gonzaga Fall Invite, starting Friday at the Stevens Center. Branchetti and Fairclough will compete at the ITA West Sectional Championships, beginning Thursday in Malibu, Calif.
