Jessica Mangrobang leads Zags with a 1-over 145 after two rounds

MARICOPA, Ariz. – The Gonzaga women's golf team is in fourth place after the first day of tournament play with a nine-over two-round score of 585 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz. Fifth-year senior Jessica Mangrobang leads the Zags and ranks 12th with a one-over-par two-round score of 145.

Grand Canyon leads the field with a five-under two-round score of 571. South Dakota State (-2, 574) and New Mexico State (+3, 579) lead the field.

In the first round of the day, Mangrobang finished with a 1-over 73 while closing the day with an even-par 72. Fellow Zag Federica Torre closed the first day tied for 16th with a three-over 147; Torre posted a five-over-par 77 the first round but rebounded with a two-under 70 in the second. Torre finished with six birdies on the day to lead the Zags.

Mary Scott Wolfe (+4, 148; T-23), Cassie Kim (+5, 149; T-32) and Quynn Duong (+6, 150; T36) rounded out the scores for the Bulldogs.
