
Women’s Golf Places Fourth in Maricopa

Torre ties for 10th at three-over
MARICOPA, Ariz. — The Gonzaga women's golf team finished in fourth place at the 2021 Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club Tuesday.
The Bulldogs were 17-over (881) in the tournament. GU was eight-over (296) in the third and final round. The Zags were third in the event with a total of 179 pars.
Frederica Torre led Gonzaga in a tie for 10th place. Her 11 birdies were the second-most in the 114-golfer field. She carded a team-low 72 (E) in the final round, making five birdies.
Mary Scott Wolfe was one-over (73) in Round 3, making 11 pars and three birdies. She finished the tournament at even-par (4.00) on Par-4 holes. She tied for 16th at five-over (221). Jessica Mangrobang tied for 20th at seven-over (223). She made 13 pars during her third-round finish of 78 (+6).
Quynn Duong and Cassie Kim both tied for 28th at nine-over (225). Duong was three-over (75) Tuesday, while Kim was four-over (76).
Brittany Shin of CSU Fullerton took medalist honors at five-under (211), after carding a 73 (+1) in the final round. Grand Canyon's Tagiralani Luafalealo was second at three-under (213).
New Mexico State took the team title with a three-round total of 869 (+5). South Dakota State was second at 12-over (876).
The Bulldogs will be back in action on April 12, at the Bobcat Desert Classic, hosted by Montana State, in Goodyear, Ariz. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.
