Bulldog face Nevada Friday evening

RENO, Nev. – The Gonzaga volleyball team fell to Cal Baptist in four sets (15-25, 19-25, 25-21, 12-25) in the first match of the Nevada Invitational Friday afternoon at the Virginia Street Gym in Reno, Nev.

Six Zags recorded at least six kills, led by senior middle blocker Payton Mack with nine; freshman Zoe Thiros was close behind with eight kills hitting a team-leading .300.

Freshman Tia Andaya led the Bulldogs with a season-high 26 assists, while senior Jenna Kuehn added a team-high 14 digs. As a squad, GU recorded 9.0 blocks, with redshirt junior Katelyn Oppio finishing with a season-high six blocks.

Gonzaga returns to the floor later this evening (Sept. 20) against host Nevada at 7 p.m.
