Assistant coach Victoria Fallgren caddied for Leslie Folsom in LPGA major
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – Gonzaga women's golf assistant coach Victoria Fallgren took part in the U.S. Senior Women's Open as a caddy for friend and mentor Leslie Folsom in Southern Pines, N.C., this past weekend.
"Being able to participate in such an event as both a caddy and a fan was an incredible experience," Fallgren said. "I've never been in the company of such an accomplished group of women, and I spent most of the week trying to absorb as much information as I could. It also gave me a glimpse at the high level of golf now available to women, regardless of their age."
Played at the Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club, Fallgren and Folsom teamed up after Folsom earned a qualifying spot in the event in late April. Fallgren had played alongside Folsom, a native of Tukwila, Wash., in past Washington State Golf Association events, including the state best-ball that the duo won in 2018.
The pair traveled to North Carolina and took part in the first two rounds of the USGA event on Thursday and Friday with Folsom, who was competing as an amateur, missing the cut for the weekend.
