Victoria Fallgren-Murphy was named the head coach of the Gonzaga women's golf program on June 2, 2026, after spending 12 seasons as an assistant coach with the Bulldogs. A Gonzaga alumna and former standout student-athlete, Fallgren-Murphy has been part of the program for 17 years as both a player and coach and takes over leadership of the Bulldogs following the retirement of longtime head coach Brad Rickel.
Fallgren-Murphy has played an integral role in the continued growth of Gonzaga women's golf, assisting with the day-to-day coaching and operations of the program while coordinating the team's recruiting efforts. During her tenure as an assistant, the Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA postseason and made the program's first appearances at the NCAA Championships, helping establish Gonzaga as a perennial postseason contender at both the conference and national levels.
During Fallgren-Murphy's first five seasons on staff, Gonzaga steadily improved its team scoring average. In September 2014, the Bulldogs reached No. 21 in the Golfweek national rankings, the highest ranking in program history. More recently, Gonzaga's continued success included Grace Lee graduating as the program's all-time leader in career scoring average, while the Bulldogs established a program record for single-season tournament scoring average.
Prior to joining the coaching staff, Fallgren-Murphy was one of the most accomplished golfers in Gonzaga history. She became the first Bulldog to win the West Coast Conference individual championship in 2012 and helped lead Gonzaga to four team tournament victories as a senior during the 2012-13 season. She finished her collegiate career with two individual tournament victories, 10 top-five finishes and 18 top-10 finishes.
A three-time All-WCC selection, Fallgren-Murphy remains tied for the fifth-lowest round in Gonzaga history with a 67, which she carded in her collegiate debut at the Bulldog and Eagle Invitational in 2009. She won that tournament by four strokes.
Fallgren-Murphy also enjoyed extensive success in amateur competition. She qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship three times and the U.S. Amateur twice, advancing to match play at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship in 2010 and 2012. She won the Washington State Mid-Amateur Championship in 2017, 2018 and 2020 and was named Washington Mid-Amateur Player of the Year in each of those years. She also qualified for the USGA Women's Mid-Amateur Championship in 2017 and 2021.
A native of Lakewood, Calif., Fallgren-Murphy earned a bachelor's degree in Classical Civilizations from Gonzaga in 2013 and a master's degree in Sport and Athletic Administration from Gonzaga in 2015.
