Tournament Notes:
- Matches will be played at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
- The event will consist of singles and doubles tournaments, with four flights of singles and two flights of doubles.
- GU will face players from host WSU, Montana State, Idaho, Utah State, Eastern Washington, Seattle U and Montana.
- GU's Haruna Tsuruta, Maria Frampton, Katie Day and Tamara Anderson are scheduled to compete in the tournament.
Last Time Out:
- Freshman Cate Broerman led the way at the Cal Fall Invite during the last weekend in September, advancing to the final of her draw after three wins.
- Broerman and Taylor Gruber also partenered to make the consolation final in doubles.
Team Notes:
- Head coach D.J. Gurule is in his 16th season at the helm of the Gonzaga women's tennis program.
- GU returns seniors Kate Ketels, Haruna Tsuruta and Katie Day and sophomores Vlada Medvedcova and Tamara Anderson.
- The Zags welcome four freshman to the squad as well as one transfer in Taylor Gruber from Missouri.
- The group of newcomers includes California natives Jenna Sloan and JennaMarie Gordon, Arizona's Cate Broerman and Montana's Maria Frampton.
- Tsuruta posted a 9-6 singles record and 11-10 doubles record last year, playing in the No. 4 and 5 spots in the lineup.
- Ketels went 9-12 in singles and 15-13 in doubles, playing primarily at No. 5 and 6 in the lineup.
- Gruber brings collegiate experience to the squad after posting a 16-11 mark, spending time in the Nos. 3, 4, 5, and 6 spots in the Tiger lineup.
Look Back to 2019
- The Zags ended the season ranked No. 51 and finished the year with a 13-10 overall record
- They advanced all the way to the West Coast Conference championship match before falling to top-seeded and sixth-ranked Pepperdine.
- The season included All-America and WCC Player of the Year awards for Sophie Whittle, berths in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships by Whittle and Graciela Rosas, and the pair being named to All-WCC Teams in singles and doubles.
