LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — Gonzaga women's golf remained in the top half of the 17-team field in eighth overall after two rounds of the Pat Bradley Invitational in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
Playing the par-72 Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club, Gonzaga is just two shots out of sixth and will head to the final round 13 shots behind the leaders FGCU and Stetson. GU shot a nine-over 297 as a team on the day to total a 12-over score through 36 holes.
Individually, sophomore Quynn Duong was solid all day, turning in two birdies to match just two bogeys on the way to an even-par 72 and sit in a tie for ninth overall. She's just four shots out of the lead.
"The wind was up today, which made the course harder than I thought. It was the first time we've seen wind since we've been here, but we played hard all day," head coach Brad Rickel said. "We gave some back the last three to four holes. We will have to play a really good 18 holes tomorrow if we want to be near the top in the end. Quynn [Duong] continued to be solid and will be looking to go low tomorrow. All five in our lineup are contributing."
Sophomore Federica Torre is tied for 30th overall after a second-round 75 (+3) at four-over overall, while freshman Alyssa Nguyen climbed up to 38th overall after a 74 (+2) to sit at five-over.
Senior Jessica Mangrobang is also 38th overall after a second-round 76 (+4), and freshman Cassie Kim shot her second straight 76 (+4) to sit in a tie for 57th at eight-over.
Gonzaga will tee off in the final round of the Pat Bradley Invitational on Tuesday morning in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. Check GoZags.com for links to live scoring.
