SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Gonzaga women's soccer team won their 10th match of the season in a 6-2 victory over San Francisco Friday.

The Zags (10-2-1, 2-1-0 West Coast Conference) scored six goals in a game for the first time since a 6-0 win over Portland State on Sept. 19, 2000. GU also reached 10 wins in a single season for the first time since 2007, and only the sixth time in program history.

Sophia Viviano scored twice and Madeline Gotta had a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs. Gotta crossed a ball into Maggie Conners and the freshman headed it into the net in the 34th minute. Savanah Van Citters curled a free kick around the USF wall just before halftime.

Viviano struck a ball from outside the box into the top left hand corner of the net in the 52nd minute. Jodi Ulkekul was credited with the assist. Sonja Giraud scored her seventh goal of the season for the Dons (4-7-2, 0-3-0 WCC) in the 61st minute.

Viviano struck again in the 67th minute. Her eighth goal of the season came off of a pass from McKenna Ferrera. Giraud then connected with Samantha Jehnings in the 69th minute on a header.

Gotta scored her fourth goal of the season off of a short cross from Callie Best in the 73rd minute. Seven minutes later, Maddie Cooley scored her first collegiate goal, striking a ball through the hands of the San Francisco keeper.

Gonzaga outshot the Dons, 22-13, placing 14 shots on goal. All four of Viviano's shots were on frame. Olivia Camera made eight saves for USF, while Isabel Jones had three for the Zags.

The Bulldogs remained unbeaten at home with the result. GU has won seven of the eight games at Luger Field this season, drawing with SMU in the other match. The Zags have outscored opponents 27-7 at home.

Gonzaga hosts Santa Clara (7-6-1, 2-1-0) Sunday at 1 p.m. The Broncos won at Portland Friday, 4-1. Live coverage from Sunday's match will be available on GoZags.com.
