Dojcak And Sullivan Awarded All-WCC Accolades

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Roman Dojcak became Gonzaga University's inaugural four-time All-West Coast Conference men's tennis selection after being named to the All-WCC Second Team this season the conference office announced Friday. Dojcak and Scott Sullivan received All-WCC honorable mention doubles honors to give Sullivan his first career WCC accolade.
Dojcak, also a two-time WCC All-Academic selection and two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, becomes the inaugural second team honoree for the Bulldogs after posting team highs of 11 wins in singles play and pairing with Sullivan to record 10 doubles victories. Dojcak led the team this spring with three wins at No. 1 singles and four wins at No. 2 singles and also added four more wins while playing in the No. 3 slot. The Zags lone senior opened his final season at Gonzaga advancing to the second round of the highly touted ITA Regional Tournament in October before closing out the fall season by claiming the singles consolation bracket title at the PNW Intercollegiates in November.
The Kosice, Slovakia native Dojcak earned All-WCC honorable mention in doubles as a freshman and All-WCC honorable mention in singles as a sophomore before earning a pair of accolades including the highest recognition by a Bulldog single player under the guidance of head coach Peter MacDonald.
"We are really proud of Roman. He very much deserves the recognition after all that he has accomplished both on and off the court," MacDonald. "Roman was my very first freshman recruit and he has been a huge part in making everyone around him better every day. Roman and Scott played very well through the season and it was nice to see them rewarded after playing so consistent for us this season."
