SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga senior forward Sara Streufert was named the West Coast Conference co-player of the week in women's soccer after a week in which she moved into the WCC career Top 10 in goals scored. Streufert collected four goals and one assist as she helped guide Gonzaga to a 1-1 week. In the Bulldogs 6-0 victory over Portland State Streufert scored three goals to earn her fourth career hat-trick, netting one during each season of her standout career. During Gonzaga's 4-1 loss at Washington State Streufert accounted for the lone Zags goal. Her 38 career goals moved Streufert into sole possession of 9th place on the WCC career goals scored list. The WCC career leader is former Portland standout and current national team member Shannon MacMillan, who scored 87 goals during her four-year career.
Gonzaga returns to action this Friday night as the Bulldogs travel to Seattle to take on No. 9 Washington. Gonzaga returns to Martin Field next Wednesday afternoon with a 3 p.m. game against Eastern Washington.
