SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's basketball head coach Lisa Fortier announced the signing of Zeryhia Aokuso for the 2025-26 season. A 5-10 guard, Aokuso is transferring to Gonzaga after two years at Saint Mary's.

During her freshman year at Saint Mary's, Aokuso was named the WCC Freshman of the Year and was selected to the All-WCC Second Team. Overall, she has started in 45 games for the Gaels and has averaged 10.9 points a game her first two years. During her sophomore season, she averaged 25 minutes a game and had a season-high performance of 21 points against San Diego.

Was twice named All-Third District at Amarillo High... Named MVP in 2023... Part of teams that were District champs all three years she was on varsity... Advanced to Geico Championship.

Lisa Fortier on Aokuso: Zeryhia is a proven and versatile player who has been an opponents nightmare since she stepped on the floor for the first time as a freshman. Her size and skill set make her a challenge to guard, and her mid-range jumper is one of the best I've seen. She is a great passer, and will bring very valuable experience to our team this year.
