Biography

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women's basketball head coach Lisa Fortier announced the signing of Taylor Smith. A 6-2 forward, Smith is transferring to Gonzaga after two years at Weber State. She will have two years of eligibility left at Gonzaga as a graduate student.

In her sophomore season, Smith played and started in 27 games for the Wildcats. She averaged 12.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while playing an average 30.2 minutes. She ranked #7 in Big Sky scoring to earn Big Sky First Team honors, the first Weber State women's basketball player to do so since the 2017-18 season.

Overall, she played in 56 games for the Wildcats and started in 28 of those. She averaged 25.8 minutes per game and grabbed 263 rebounds in her career while scoring 532 points.

Lisa Fortier on Smith: Taylor is a multi-skilled forward that can score and create in a variety of ways.  She thrives in mismatches and is the kind of player we think is just scratching the surface of her potential.
