Senior (2023-24): Opened the season in the No. 4 seat for the V8 boat and the No. 2 seat for the 1V4+ boat, contributing to first-place finishes for both crews in their respective flights… Helped the V8 boat secure second place (15:36.1) and the V4 boat claim third place (17:17.2) at the Head of the American… Recorded a third-place finish with the V8 boat (14:09.391) and a sixth-place finish with the 2V4+ boat (16:48.946) at the San Diego Fall Classic… Led the 2V8 boat to a first-place finish in its heat (6:26.702) on the first day of the San Diego Crew Classic, followed by a second-place finish (6:27.460) on the second day… Earned two runner-up finishes with the 2V8 boat at the Occoquan Challenge… Powered the Bulldogs to a dominant victory over Washington State in the Fawley Cup, taking first place with a time of 6:19.4… Capped off the season with a first-place finish in the 2V8 boat at the Western Sprints, posting a time of 6:15.610.
2021-22: Started the season as the bow of the Varsity 8 team, where he helped Gonzaga finish first with a time of 7:20.1 at the Head of the Snake meet… Also assisted the Varsity 8 team in their second-place finish at the San Diego Classic event… Moved to the stroke position of the Varsity 8 team at the Oregon State University event, where helped Gonzaga finish with a time of 6:10.6; their fastest time of the season and enough to earn a second-place finish at the meet.…
2020-21: Performed as stroke for the Varsity 8 team, helping earn times of 6:05.15 and 6:14.64 against St. Joe’s and Drexel…Helped Gonzaga place second in the Fawley Cup with the Varsity 8 team, earning a time of 6:08.46…Also participated at the Western Sprints and Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championships, where the Varsity 8 team placed fifth in the finals with a time of 06:34.672.
HIGH SCHOOL – Attended O’Dea High School in Seattle, Wash…competed on the Mount Baker Crew Team for six years…in 2017 placed 1st at youth regionals in 3V4+, in 2018 placed 7th at youth nationals in lightweight 8+ and 1st at youth regionals in lightweight 8+, and in 2019 3rd at youth regionals in JV8+ and 6th at Head of the Lake in V8+.
MISC. – Son of Erin and Morris…majoring in accounting…cousin Colin Drangsholt is a senior on the men’s crew team at Gonzaga and cousin Hailey Drangsholt placed 2nd in 4+ at NCAA Championships (2017) for University of California Berkley...chose Gonzaga because “they have one of the top accounting programs in the country.”
