Prior to Gonzaga
- O'Neil had a dominant senior outdoor track season in 2022. He won 14 of the 18 races that he competed in, including the 800m State Championship. O’Neil comes to Gonzaga with a 1:52.71 personal best in the 800m and 4:04.64 PR in the 1500m. O'Neil's mother was a national champion for Oregon, Tyson's alma mater

- O’Neil hails from Canby, Oregon. His mother was a national champion for Oregon, Tyson's alma mater. "I committed to Gonzaga because I admired the campus and the people," O'Neil said. "When I visited Gonzaga, the atmosphere was electric. Many of my mentors have attended the school, which inspired me to become a bulldog as well. Coach Tyson's former athletes have only had positive things to say about his coaching. I'm looking forward to starting my journey"
