
Cross Country competes at Frank Knott Invite

SPOKANE, Wash.- Gonzaga Cross Country returned to Spokane on Saturday, taking two second place finishes at the Frank Knott Invite at The Course in Spokane Valley.Â
Gonzaga Women's Cross Country team was lead by an eighth place individual finish by Clare Mullin, who clocked a 21:36.4 time in the 6k. Madi Zemper-Prill and Olivia Sheridan finished back to back with respective times of 21:47.5 and 21:49.2. Anika Jones and Ida Meyer rounded out the scoring spots with finishes in 21:58.1 and 22:08.6. Gonzaga men's cross country was lead in the 8k with an 11th overall finish for Hayden Roberts, who finished in 24:22.0. Gabe McClain improved on a personal best time with a final 24:26.1 time for a twelfth place finish, while Sawyer Clarkson finished in 24:35.3. Zander Trevino and Caleb Richardson had respective finishes of 24:39.4 and 24:41.5 to cap off the team scoring.Â
The Zags will return to the course next week when they take on the storied Nuttycombe Invitational on October 9th. The meet will be streamed on Runnerspace.Â
