PHOENIX, Ariz. –  Arizona State completed its three-game sweep over Gonzaga with an 11-4 win on Sunday at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
 
After a pitchers' duel on Saturday, Arizona State (12-4) scored five quick runs in the first two innings, chasing Gonzaga (2-11) starter Justin Feld (L, 0-3) after just one-plus inning of work. Erik Hoffberg entered and quieted the ASU bats, pitching a career-high five and two-thirds innings while allowing three runs on six hits and striking out six.
 
The Bulldogs made a push in the fourth, plating four runs on three hits including Rece Schuerman's first home run of the season, an opposite field three-run blast to bring the score within one. However, ASU would eventually pull away with three separate two-run innings in the fifth, seventh, and eighth.
 
Arizona State used five different pitchers on Sunday to close out the sweep. Lucas Kelly (W, 2-0) was the winning pitcher after throwing two shutout innings in relief.
 
Josh Hankins reached base three times in the finale, picking up two hits and drawing a walk.
