
Track Wraps up Whitworth Peace Meet with 20 New PRs

Brittney Hansen, Carp Mukai notch new program top ten times on the day
SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga track returned to Whitworth for their annual Peace Meet on Friday at Boppell Track. As a program, the Zags plated 20 new PR times across six different events on the day.
In the women's 800m, it was Brittney Hansen who posted the best time for the Zags, a PR and new seventh-fastest time of 2:13.51. Five other Bulldogs PR'd in the event, including Ashlinn Aguayo (2:27.00), Tate Beasley (2:18.10), Anna Lanigan (2:15.49), Emma Larson (2:17.85), and Molly McGeoy (2:21.63).
The lady Zags went 3-for-3 in PRs in the 1500m, as Camille Broadbent (4:43.91), Catherine Vlach (4:57.39) and Anika Jones (4:54.36) each improved their previous best times.
On the men's side, Carp Mukai move up into a three-way tie for seventh-fastest in program history in the 800m, posting a 1:52.31 finish to tie Jon Neil (1996) and Brent Felnagle (2013). Tommy O'Neil also PR'd, finishing in 1:55.38.
In the men's 1500m, five out of the seven Zag runners took home PRs, including Will Thorsett (3:54.18), Paul Talens (3:54.15), Mason Kissell (3:53.07), Jacob Alfonso (3:50.79), and Michael Lewis (4:09.03).
The men's 5000m saw two new PRs, with Aidan Baughan (14:26.71) and Luke Alfonso (15:29.06) each earning new top personal marks.
Sean Janecko won the men's 3000m steeplechase with a PR time of 9:15.09, while Caleb Richardson PR'd with a time of 9:54.88.
