UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's golf team wrapped up the final round of Chamber's Bay Invite on Tuesday. It is their final event of the spring season before the West Coast Conference Championships, which are slated for April 28-30.
The Bulldogs finished in 15th place at 85-over (949). After combining for scores of 21-over (309) and 26-over (314) on Monday, GU shot 38-over (326) in the final round, accumulating 134 pars and 19 birdies overall.
Cassie Kim finished in a tie for 43rd, shooting 19-over (235) for the tournament and making 29 pars and four birdies. Quynn Duong shot 20-over (236) and tied for 48th, making 30 pars and three birdies.
Chaewon Baek shot 11-over (83) on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 66th at 23-over (239). Ivanna Montemayor (+25, 241) turned in a score of ten-over (82) in the final round and finished in a tie for 72nd. Kaysa Panke (+33, 249) shot 14-over (86) in Round 3 and tied for 99th.
UCLA's Emma Spitz was the individual leader entering the final round on Tuesday and held on to secure the title after combining to shoot one-under (215). The Bruins also took home the team title, shooting 12-over (876) and winning by 18 strokes.
Gonzaga will be off for two weeks before heading to the West Coast Conference Championships in Henderson, Nevada. The tournament is three days long and will be played at Reflection Bay Golf Club on April 28-30. Live scoring will be available at GoZags.com.
