Complete WCC All-Academic Team
SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Gonzaga women's golfers Quynn Duong and Federica Torre were named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team, league officials announced Thursday.
The sophomore GU pair were part of a 10-member WCC All-Academic Team. At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.
Duong, from San Jose, Calif., posted a 3.62 grade-point average in sport management and is also working on a minor in psychology. During the 2019-20 season, she played all six tournaments and was the Zags scoring leader at 72.60 strokes per round. She won the individual title at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, helped lead the team to tournament wins at both the Harbottle Invite and the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational. Duong posted four top-20 finishes on the year.
Torre, from Ronco Scrivia, Italy, posted a 3.53 GPA in sport management. She played in all six events, ranking second on the team in scoring average at 74.61. She finished with one top-10 on the year and notched three rounds at par or better.
