Gonzaga was picked to finish fourth in the league’s preseason poll
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Gonzaga women's golfer Quynn Duong was named to the West Coast Conference Preseason All-WCC Team, league officials announced Thursday.
The release came in conjunction with the preseason coaches' poll, in which the Zags were picked to finish fourth by the WCC head coaches.
Duong, from San Jose, Calif., had a standout 2018-19 freshman year, earning WCC Freshman of the Year honors. She placed in the Top 10 in a team-best five of her nine events last year. Her four finishes in the Top 5 also included three runner-ups, and her 72.85 scoring average set a new Gonzaga single-season record, nearly a half-stroke better than the previous record.
Pepperdine was the unanimous choice to win the league title with four first-place votes, followed by BYU and San Francisco ahead of Gonzaga.
