Final Round of Husky Invitational Canceled

Round 3 called due to rain; Zags finish 11th
BREMERTON, Wash. – The final round of the Husky Invitational was cancelled following a weather delay due to a heavy rainstorm. It was the season-opening tournament for GU.
The scores from round two are the official scores for the invitational. Playing as individuals, the Zags' Charlie Magruder and Matthew Ruel placed 25th place. Magruder and Ruel were 13-over (157). Also playing as an individual, Chris Mogg is in 29th at 16-over (160). Magruder, Ruel and Mogg were all at a separate event at nearby McCormick Woods Golf Course in Port Orchard.
In Bremerton, Nick Nolan and Cameron Nicklos both tied for 38th at three-over (147). The Bulldogs tied for 11th as a team with San Diego at 16-over (592).
Holden Backes tied for 54th at six-over (150). Zach Stocker (+7, 151) and Grant Johnson (+9, 153) tied for 59th and 65th.
The tournament's host, Washington, won the event. The Huskies had four golfers in the Top-10 and were 22-under (554). Long Beach State was second with a team total of 562 (-14).
Gonzaga travels to Fresno, Calif., for the Nick Watney Invitational on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.
