COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Charlie Olson led Gonzaga men's golf in the season-opening Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational tying for ninth.

Olson was under-par in each of the three rounds over the three-day tournament at the Eisenhower Golf Course, finishing four-under (212). He opened with a 70 (-2), before carding consecutive 71s (-1) in the second and third rounds. The junior made four birdies and 12 pars in Round 1. His 2.92 (-1) average over the course's Par-3 holes was the second-lowest in the 90-golfer field.

Michael Vienneau tied for 21st at one-under (215). He was four-under (68) in the final round, making six birdies and 10 pars. In his 30th collegiate round, it was the sophomore's lowest score.

Bruce Chang's 40 pars were the most in the field. He tied for 53rd at five-over (221). The junior was three-over (75) in Round 1, and one-over (73) in Rounds 2 and 3. In their collegiate debuts, Jack Brayman (+7, 223) and Cooper Paull (+9, 225) tied for 61st and 67th respectively.

Wyoming's Brody Leid took medalist honors at nine-under (207), while Arthur Akpinar of Denver was second at eight-under (208). Colorado won the team title at 30-under (834). Denver and UTEP were second at 15-under (849).
