GU returns WCC Freshman of the Year Quynn Duong among five returning letterwinners
SPOKANE, Wash. –Gonzaga women's golf head coach Brad Rickel has announced the 2019-20 tournament schedule on Tuesday.
"We are very excited about this year's tournament schedule," Rickel said. "We have strengthened it from last year and added some great tournaments. Our young, but talented team will have opportunities to compete against the best and earn a trip to the postseason. It will be great to host the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational for the third time. It is becoming one of the premiere college tournaments in the West."
The squad kicks off the year in Pullman, Wash., for the Washington State Cougar Cup at Palouse Ridge Golf Course on Sept. 16-17. GU then returns home for the highlight of the fall season: hosting the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational, September 23-25, at the Coeur d'Alene Resort for the third straight year.
Two return events cap the fall slate with the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, October 14-15 at Tacoma Country and Golf Club for the fifth straight year and the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club, October 20-22, in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. It will be GU's second straight trip to the event.
The spring season starts with an event in Rancho Mirage, Calif., at the Mission Hills Individual Invitational on Jan. 27, followed by the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate on Feb.17-18 in Las Vegas.
The five-tournament spring leadup to the West Coast Conference Championships continues on March 9-10 at the Juli Inkster Meadow Club Invitational in Fairfax, Calif. Maui awaits the Zags on March 23-25 with the Anuenue Spring Classic, followed by the final tuneup at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on April 6-7 in Maricopa, Ariz.
The WCC Championships will take place on April 22-25 at Reflection Bay Golf Course in Henderson, Nev.
Gonzaga returns the core of its squad with WCC Freshman of the Year Quynn Duong, fellow sophomores Federica Torre and Kaysa Panke, seniors Jessica Mangrobang and Nina Novilla, and a pair of talented incoming freshman in Cassie Kim and Alyssa Nguyen.
