Mogg Jumps to Second at WCC Championships

Zags enter the final round in a tie for sixth
STOCKTON, Calif. – Gonzaga's Chris Mogg is tied for second place entering the final round of the 2019 West Coast Conference Championships at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
Mogg climbed up the leaderboard on Day 2 of the tournament after carding a 67 (-5). He made four birdies and eagled the fifth hole in Round 2. The junior was three-under on the front nine and two-under on the back nine. He is six-under (138) and two strokes off of the leader going into the final day. Mogg is six-under on the course's Par-5 holes, with an average of 4.25 on those holes.
Gonzaga is tied for sixth as a team at six-over (582). The Bulldogs were eight-over (296) Friday.
Tyler Munetake and Charlie Magruder are tied for 24th and 29th. Munetake is three-over (147), while Magruder is four-over (148). Munetake and Magruder both made three birdies in the second round. Munetake was three-over (75) in Round 2, and Magruder was six-over (78).
Grant Johnson and Nick Nolan are both tied for 38th at seven-over (151). Johnson was four-over (76) in the second round, and Nolan was six-over (78).
Pepperdine's Joshua McCarthy rose to the top of the leaderboard, following a 66 (-6) in Round 2. He is eight-under (136) with a round to play. BYU's Peter Kuest is also tied for second at six-under (138).
San Francisco remained atop the team leaderboard. The Dons were three-over (291) in the second round, and are 11-under (565) entering the third and final round. Pepperdine roared into second, after a 10-under (278) second round. The Waves are two strokes back of USF at nine-under (567).
