CHENEY, Wash. — Rainy and windy conditions cancelled the majority of the events Saturday at the 47th Pelluer Invitational hosted by Eastern Washington University.
Before the inclement weather took over, Gonzaga's Yacine Guermali took the men's 1,500-meter title. His time of 4:09.20 edged out teammate Alex Walde, who placed second at 4:09.48.
Four Zags placed inside the Top 10 of the women's 1,500 meters, led by a fourth place finish from Jenna Rogers at 4:59.74. Erin Boyle was sixth with a time of 5:04.77, while Brazee Smith (5:05.84) and Ariel Evans (5:10.59) were eighth and 10th.
Gianna Bacher and Samantha Vowles were fourth and fifth in the women's 400 meters. Bacher crossed the line at 1:04.52, and Vowles had a time of 1:07.30.
