Magruder tied for 23rd at three-over
BANDON, Ore. – Gonzaga's Charlie Magruder is tied for 23rd, and the Zags are in 14th place, following the second round of the 10th annual Bandon Dunes Championships Monday.
The Bulldogs were nine-over on Day 2 of the tournament on the Bandon Dunes Course at the Bandon Dunes Resort. GU is 31-over (607) entering Tuesday's final round.
Magruder carded a 73 (+1) in the second round. He made five birdies and nine pars Monday. He is three-over (147) entering the final round.
Nick Nolan is four-over (148) in a tie for 30th. He eagled the ninth hole, made a birdie and made 12 pars in Round 2, finishing one-over (73).
"The sun was out and the wind was down today, providing excellent playing conditions," GU Head Coach Robert Gray said. "Tournament scores were down throughout the field, including our team score where we improved 13 shots. Unfortunately, we remained in the same position on the leaderboard but we're looking to finish with our best round of the event and continue improving.
"Charlie did a great job of letting an early triple bogey roll off his back and finish at one-over (73) for the day. Nick also followed up his round yesterday with a 73 today which included an eagle on the ninth hole. Everyone is continuing to improve with each round which is very positive."
The final round begins at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Live scoring will be available on GoZags.com.
